Meet Riska, Our Newly Elected General President for BNEC 26th Presidency!

The 25th Presidency of BNEC is going to wrap up its story, and the journey will be continued by the next presidency. It’s undeniable that all things will come to an end, but every ending comes with a new beginning. The next chapter of our journey will be written soon, step by step. But first, we definitely need to choose the right person to lead us in the making of another extraordinary story!

Every candidate is required to join a bidding to become the next president. The bidding itself opened from June 23, 2018, and 11 bidders joined it. The bidding consisted of 2 main parts: BNEC’s phase, and SCDC’s phase. BNEC’s phase consisted of several phases that help the bidders to analyze and build their plans, while SCDC’s phase consisted of five phases, starting from Kickoff BALON Ketua, and ended with SCDC Presentation and Interview.

It’s a long yet interesting journey to tell, and the newly elected president herself, Riska, is willing to share her story. “Every phase of the bidding has its own memorable story. But the most memorable one is the Executive Talk. I got many insights from the alumni and the 25th BNEC Steering Committee. They helped me to explore more, especially in deciding the year goal for the presidency and innovations that I have planned for the 26th Presidency,” said Riska, elaborating the bidding process.

Everyone might have their own goal, but motivation is the key to achieve the goal. Riska wants to contribute more, and give back to BNEC for what she had received. She told us, “BNEC is not just a platform for me to develop my organizational experience, but it also has become a family to me. They support me to become a better person, from time to time.”

Aside from motivation, a goal must be pursued with an action that is in line with values that BNEC has. As an organization which values continuous improvement, the 25th BNEC President, Leonardo, has a message for Riska to ensure that the legacy can be developed in the next presidency. He told us, “I always believe that BNEC is a great learning platform and a turning point to reach an extraordinary path in life. Keep inspiring, and make an impact. Good luck, and don’t hesitate to reach us for help!”

It’s been almost two months since Riska was elected, and she hopes that the Board of Management of the BNEC 26th Presidency will keep their spirits high, and work in a team to create another extraordinary story. As a famous American poet once said, “Unity is strength. When there are teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.”
